Sex Research and Sun: Join us for the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality Meeting in Puerto Rico!
February 20, 2017 by Justin Lehmiller
As Co-Chair of this year’s meeting of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us in the Caribbean this November as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Society! If sex research is your thing, you don’t want to miss this.
The conference will take place November 9-12 in San Juan, the capital of the island of Puerto Rico. San Juan is a stunning city rich with history, culture, and natural beauty. The conference will be held in the Isla Verde neighborhood on a beachfront property. Do we know how to plan an academic meeting or what?
We are in the process of putting together an incredible scientific program organized around the theme of “disciplines, distances, and decades.” This will include a series of invited speakers (to be announced shortly), who will not only help us to appreciate the evolution of sex science over the last 60 years, but also to better understand the current challenges facing the field with an eye toward ensuring a promising future.
We are currently seeking submissions for paper and poster presentations that highlight the latest developments in sex research and practice from educators, clinicians, and scientists. To submit an abstract for review, please follow this link. We are an interdisciplinary organization and welcome abstracts from any area of sex science. Submissions are due by March 6, 2017.
Come for the science, stay for the sun and splendor of San Juan. Hope to see you there in November!
