It’s hard for me to believe this, but Sex and Psychology is now seven years old! When I began blogging in 2011, I had no idea where this journey would take me, but it has been one amazing ride! I’m thrilled that Sex and Psychology has become a widely read and referenced resource on the science of sex. I’m also humbled by all of the opportunities that have emerged as a result of this blog, including the fact that I’m now published in Playboy, VICE, Politico, USA Today, New York Magazine, and more! The blog was also instrumental in landing a major book deal. I can honestly say that Tell Me What You Want wouldn’t have happened without Sex and Psychology!

Thank YOU for your interest in the science of sex and everything you do to support this site, including reading and sharing the articles, submitting your questions, and weighing in with your comments. Sex and Psychology is the single most rewarding aspect of my professional career and I can’t imagine my life without it. I hope you’re looking forward to another year of great sex [research] as much as I am! In the meantime, here are some fun facts and statistics for your reading pleasure.

• Current number of social media followers across all channels: 44,800+ (up 17% from 2017). My Twitter following grew more than any other platform this year (more than 40%!). In the new year, I’d like to grow on YouTube and Instagram, which are the two most recent platforms I joined. Please subscribe to me on YouTube for fun videos featuring sex facts and research and follow me on Instagram if you want to know what I do when I’m not writing about sex!

• Most popular article keyword (aside from sex, of course): a virtual tie between “sexual orientation” (included in 123 posts) and “orgasm” (included in 111 posts).

• Most read edition of Sex Question Friday in 2018: Do Women Enjoy Anal Sex?

• Most watched sex research video on the blog in 2018: 7 Facts About the Penis (which dethroned The Science Of Attraction, the most watched video in 2015, 2016, and 2017).

• Most read infographic on the blog in 2018: Characteristics of Gay and Bisexual Men with Foot Fetishes (also the most read in 2017). The runner-up was When Do Women Orgasm During a Hookup?

Stay tuned for a countdown of the ten most read articles of the year. There are some truly fascinating entries on the list!

Thank you again for your continued support and readership of the blog!
